Alaskan King Sleep Mattress Setup Guide

Can't wait to unbox your new bed? Follow these instructions, and your Alaskan King will be sleep-ready tonight.

We recommend two adults complete this fast and easy assembly process. Remember to exercise caution while lifting, positioning, and unwrapping your mattress components.

Delivery

We deliver the Alaskan King experience directly from our dream factory. The roll-packed mattress components will arrive in three boxes, ready for setup in your sleep sanctuary.

Box Contents

Box 1: Compressed roll with two mattress core quadrants

Box 2: Compressed roll with two mattress core quadrants

Box 3: One compressed foam topper and one mattress shell

Step One

Open all three boxes and remove their contents. Leave each component

in its individual packaging for now.

Step Two

Unwrap the mattress shell and unzip it to separate the top panel and fabric border. Set the top panel aside for later and spread the fabric border out on top of your foundation. Make sure the four corners line up with the base.

Step Three

Start with one of the mattress rolls and place it on the ground. Note that the plastic roll contains two quadrants stacked on top of each other and then compressed. Make sure there's enough space for them to fully unravel before opening the plastic—once air enters the wrap, the mattresses will expand quickly and may exert force. Carefully cut the plastic wrap, and let the mattresses unroll and expand until they lay flat.

Step Four

Lift one of the mattress quadrants and place it on top of your foundation within the fabric border. Then, line it up in one of the four corners of the bed. Do the same with the second quadrant; the order does not matter, as all the quadrants are identical.

Step Five

Repeat steps 3 and 4 with the remaining mattress core quadrants. Together, they’ll create a 108-inch by 108-inch square.

Step Six

Grab the mattress topper roll and position it on top of the mattress core quadrants. Be prepared for the roll to unravel and carefully cut the plastic wrap. Once the topper lays flat, discard the plastic and line the topper up with the quadrants so they meet in all four corners. Ensure the word “Medium” printed on the topper is right side up.

Step Seven

Now take the top panel from the mattress shell. With the backing facing downward, line it up and lay it flat on top of the mattress topper.

Step Eight

Pull up the border fabric so it covers the bed's edges. To secure the top panel, zip it to the top edge of the border fabric all around the mattress perimeter.

That's It!

Give the mattress a few hours to fully expand, then enjoy the royal treatment of an Alaskan King size bed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your Alaskan King Sleep mattress purchase includes a 120-night at-home sleep trial. If against all expectations, you don't love your mattress, you can return it for a full refund. Our logistics partner will pick up the mattress; you're only responsible for a $99 flat fee to cover labor and one-way transportation.

The trial begins the day your mattress arrives. Sleep on your Alaskan King Sleep mattress for at least 30 nights before making a decision—this gives you enough time to adjust to your new bed and fully experience its comfort and support benefits.

If you wish to return your mattress, please email us at support@alaskankingsleep.com. To qualify for a full refund, you must initiate the return process after the 30-night break-in period but before the 120-night trial expires.

Return Process

1. Submit Request: Please email us to request a return. Once your request is received, a member of our customer support team will reach out to walk you through the rest of the process.

2. Schedule Pick-Up: We'll set up the scheduled mattress pick-up with one of our third-party logistics partners. The $99 flat fee (deducted from your refund) covers the pick-up and transportation.

3. Day of Pick-Up: Our support team member will provide instructions on what to do on the scheduled pick-up day. Typically, you leave the mattress unboxed for pick-up, and the driver does the rest. Then, email us a scan or digital photo of the pick-up receipt.

4. Refund: Once we receive a copy of the pick-up receipt, we'll process your refund in full (minus the $99 flat fee). You will receive a Refund Notification via email.

Note: If your mattress order (three parcels) does not arrive together, your 120-night trial will begin on the delivery date of the last parcel to arrive.

It's up to you how many pillows to use with your Alaskan King. The most common pillow arrangement is four King size pillows side by side.

Fitted Sheet

Your fitted sheet should have the same width and length as your mattress: 108 inches by 108 inches. Be sure to check the pocket depth to ensure it can accommodate the height of your mattress—our Luxe Alaskan King Mattress is 13 inches tall.

Flat Sheet

Flat sheets for Alaskan King mattresses usually measure 125 by 125 inches, but dimensions can vary depending on how much overhang you want on each side.

Comforter or Duvet

You'll also need an Alaskan King size comforter or duvet cover and insert. Typical Alaskan King comforters and duvets measure around 136 by 120 inches, but again, dimensions vary depending on the overhang.

An Alaskan King mattress requires a foundation with a platform roughly 108 to 109 inches wide and 108 to 109 inches long. Our Alaskan King Bed Frame is the perfect fit for any Alaskan King mattress.
